Utah County anchors the "Silicon Slopes" tech corridor and has added residents at some of Utah's fastest rates, yet its heavily Latter-day Saint electorate has delivered Republican presidential margins above 35 points in every recent cycle.

The county has voted both ways in living memory. The Democratic margin peaked at fifty-seven points in 1896; the Republican margin peaked at seventy-nine points in 2012. The 2024 margin of forty points fits the pattern of swing.

Utah County's demographics — a population of 705,400, a 81% non-Hispanic-white share, a median household income of $100,671 — describe a Western place. The county shares the Western pattern of independence with Cache County and Davis County.
